    Fox Float X2 vs. DPX2

Anyone run both on the same bike? Or general impressions on the X2?
Hoping to get more of a coilover feel on a new Instinct, curious if it might be worth trying the X2 first.
    Thanks!

The X2 is where you wanna be. The DPX2 is not a dh rear shock. If you are coming off of an inline rear shock, the DPX2 will be an improvement but if you are already on Monarch Plus or DPX2, X2 is an improvement.

^^^ yeah. Depending on how DH you're talking, I see DH riders with frames that work best with an air spring using a Float X2.
    Do the math.

    I have a Float X2 (2019 I'm pretty sure) on a Pivot Mach 6. Haven't ridden a DPX2 unfortunately.

The Float X2 is really good, very smooth and I was surprised that the Fox settings for it based on my weight were pretty spot on with maybe a single click adjustment based on my preferences.

I think you would get more flexibility from the X2 to be honest as you can match it up pretty well for the type of riding and frame you have.

I think the DPX2 is going to run out of road so to speak much sooner than the Float X2 would.

I've also not ridden the DPX2, but the performance of the X2 is a revelation for me in terms of how linear and smooth an air shock can feel. Also, the high speed/low speed compression and high speed/low speed rebound have a wide range of adjustment for tailoring the shock to your riding style. I'm running the X2 on an Ibis HD4.

Same..running a X2 on a HD4. Best shock I've had to date. Super happy with it. Only reason to get the DPX2 would be for a lighter build that pedals a little better.
