Fox DPS open adjust migrates from 1-3 while riding

Has anyone else had this happen?

If I am riding in the open mode, the black "open mode" adjust level migrates from "1" to "3" over the course of a ride, which obviously makes a big difference in how the bike feels over the course of a ride.

Anyone have a fix for it?

It goes from open to firm? Maybe it happens, but it's a new one on me. I've seen it go the other way as the control is cam that pushes progressively against a spring going toward firm so it's way easier to go toward open.

    Can something be hitting it.

I tested it by pulling the adjust out and letting it snap back. It wants to migrate towards the "3" position so I think it's getting jostled when ridding through rock gardens, rough terrain, etc.

^^^ Right. I was wrong. I was thinking of a different shock (ReaKtiv) which goes easier toward open. The normal DPS goes easier toward firm like you are describing.

Have you had any oil misting heavily around the knobs or retainer screws? Just thinking that it might be the IFP taking up a bit more space (due to a slight oil loss somewhere) and closing up the required gap between the piston assembly and the top of the IFP.

Not that I've noticed, but it's time for a service for sure. I'll report back once its been serviced and see if it keeps happening.
