Forks stolen...Need advice on what forks to get now

Sad to say but my front forks were stolen from my apartment. Perks of living near a university right?

Well I'm still somewhat new to mountain biking and I need some advice on what forks is the best bang for the buck for a beginner and is trying to keep a budget. My bike is a Maverick 4.5 Iron Horse. Front tire is 26".

    Thanks in advance

    What's your budget?
Do you want coil spring or air spring?
How much travel do you need?
