    first fork overhaul...

Ok guys. Not ten minutes into my first fork overhaul and it's already not going as planned.
It's a 2002-ish Judy TT. Coil sprung. I removed the right top cap, looked down, and there appears to be no oil. not sure if that's good or bad. I tried to remove the left top cap, the one w/preload nob, but after minutes of twisting it still wont come out and feels like it's under pressure. Next, I went to the bottom bolts. I twisted these for a while but they didn't come out. I did the hammer thing and tried to remove the lowers but they feel like they're attached to a spring. Forgive me for my noobness but my fork is really sticky. I just want to change the oil!

Pull it apart and grease the lowers after cleaning them out and ride it till it dies.

Look through the sticky thread at the top of the page called Service Information and Set-Up and you might find a service manual for your fork.
