    DPX2 negative chamber problem

I wanted to check what spacer was installed so I let out all the air and it sucked the bike 100% to the bottom super fast, unscrewed the can and the can has a ton of vacuum to it (too much to screw it back on without compressing the travel).

Anyone know what is causing the negative chamber to not release? I let the air out a few days ago to measure a new chain and it didnt do this. It also makes a squeak/whistle noise.

You let the air out too fast so the piston blew straight past the dimple without equalising the pressures and sealed off the negative chamber. Itís fine, it will re-equalise once you inflate it to full extension again

^^^ yeah. When you let air out, put the pump on and use the bleed button on the pump to let the air out slowly. If the shock/fork begins to suck down, force it to full extension before continuing to let air out.
    Do the math.

Interesting, my old Fox shock didnt do that but it was quite different than the DPX2. I thought it was odd that when I released the air it came out all at once like a popped balloon. I'll do it slower next time

    thanks

The older shocks had smaller negative chambers so the force dropped off much quicker
