    About changing shock size.

I have got a 2014 Norco sight carbon frame. Can I fit a 8.5' fox ctd factory shock on it, will that be a problem? Thanks a lot!

Changing the length more than a few mm's can upset the geometry and can possibly cause mechanical interference. What is the reason for change?

you need to get the same size shock as stock unless you have very carefully calculated the changes a different shock size will make to your bike and are sure those changes are desirable to you.
