29 Float 32 Fit CTD lever turning around

I'm seeing a bit of strange behaviour from my 2013 Fox 29 Float 32 Factory fork with 120mm travel and Fit damper.

The CTD lever works just fine with three distinct and clicking positions but I've noticed that for the past few rides the entire lever system seems to have been turning around, roughly 120 degrees in total, so that now the CTD lever is pointing directly towards steerer tube when the lever is in the middle (Trail) position.

Anyone faced this issue before or any guesses where this could be coming from?

So I "fixed" this by taking off the CTD lever and reinstalled it with the correct alignment. However, immediately on the next ride I noticed that the lever was travelling by ~20 degrees again.

    Any ideas what's happening here?
