    Shimano XTR M9000

I now have a couple of rides under my belt on the new XTR M9000 1 X 11 setup. I wrote a blog about it showing some specs, pricing and pros/cons. Hopefully it may help anyone who is looking into this setup.

Thanks for the review.. I've done about three rides on the new XTR and it's been flawless.. Was running XTR 1x10 before this..

My experience with the Race brakes are the same as yours; nowhere near as powerful as my two-year old XTs, and I'm pretty disappointed. Any thoughts on whether different pads would help? Mine came with the GO2A resin pads.

Unfortunately the pads won't help. The brakes are just not as powerful. If I had it to do over again I would have spent the extra money and got the XTR Trail brakes. I guess we sacrificed weight for stopping power. Thanks for reading and the feedback.

Same here. I'm even considering selling the XTRs and going back to the XTs.

Just be aware that Shimano introduced a new I-Spec interface with the M9000 brakes/shifters, so if you do want to run XT brakes with new XTR shifters you'll need the bar mount version of the shifters.

Thanks, but I'm running SRAM 1 x 11, so that wouldn't be an issue
