    Smile Shimano XTr 8000

I have just put a new 11 speed cassette , rear mech and shifter on my 2015 mondraker foxy hub. I previously had a sram 10 speed cassette with a sram x9 rear mech. Sorry to say that the shifting is not up to scratch with the XTr. But 'clunky' particularly shifting down on the lower gears. Local mechanic not sure what the prob is. Any suggestions

I thought it felt "notchy" at first then as I put a little more time on in it "broke in" and has a crispness. I had a difficult time going from the non-clutch, old school 9 speed quiet and whip like shifting to the more newer style of shifting but now I don't even think about it. It is that good.

Thanks for this. I agree starting to bed in and getting used to a different kind of shift.

Yes, it definitely needs time to bed in. The roughness of the shifter smoothed out and becomes pure silk after after a while.
