    Shimano flightdeck part

I recently found a missing screw under my right shifter of my flightdeck. It looks like it connects the lower lever and the upper brake/lever. The one on the left side is there but wont come unscrewed so that i may match it. I am very frustrated and want to replace it so that the shifter will be more sturdy. Otherwise the bottom lever is loose. I am new to road bikes and cycling. Can anyone help me out to figure what screw i need? I looked online at replacement parts and all i found was a 5500 front cover screw.

where can i find a replacement or doesn anyone know the specific screw needed?

    Re: Shimano flightdeck part

Type "Shimano EV-[your shifter part number here]" into Google. It should bring up a PDF of an exploded view. If the part is available, it will have a number assigned to it.

The part number should be imprinted on the lever body underneath the hood.

If that fails, the thread is likely M3 or M4 x 0.8mm pitch. Check the part bins at a local shop or co-op.

Thanks for reply with real info. I didnt realize it was a mountain bike section just thought shimano was shimano. I have tried shops and they make claims of complexity and the need for hourly rates type stuff. I have also looked up those parts pages with the breakdowns you mentioned and it is hard to find that little screw. But i will look again or maybe just call shimano. Either way. I will head to the road bike section for speed wobble questions. Thanks again.
