    Shimano 12 speed

Does anyone know when and if Shimano is going to make/release a 12 speed?

They'll wait til it works. But you can get Eagle now and be a Sram tester.

looks like shimano might be trying to figure out a way to make 12 speeds and not use XD or come up with something new as well as a lighter cassette that's not x-dome so they don't copy sram!

But I'd be more than okay with a better copy!

it will be out in several years and it will work great, but sram will have moved on to the new next thing.

And those that jump on it will beta test that for Sram as well, sort of like the Eagle threads. But hey a lot of people love to pay big bucks to beta test for companies.

Still rocking an XX1 first generation drive train with 3k+ miles on it. Also have a first gen eagle XX1 as well. Both work well enough to stay on my bikes. The XX1 has had some derailleur problems but I was able to sort them out. My XTR rear derailleur had a bad spring in it and was replaced under warranty. Overall I am very happy with sram 1X drivetrains even if I was a Shimano fanboy for my entire life.
I would never put avid brakes on one of my bikes though.
