    Repairing/servicing an XT disc brake...

A 3-4 year old Shimano XT disc brake of mine probably has a leaky piston.

I'd like to get it re-built or serviced.

I presume I can send it back to Shimano - if so, how does one do this?

What does it typically cost for something like this?

If it is a Shimano 785 break, there is no servicing it.....Shimano stopped selling service kits and small parts....so basically you buy a new caliper if the old one is trashed.

Sucks to have to toss a perfectly good caliper because of a $2 seal.

If you've decided to just replace the caliper, then I would consider removing the piston and visit a seal and "O" ring shop in search of a possible replacement. What have you too lose?
