    HMF vs HMX Carbon Fiber?

Ok so I was looking at the scale 10 as a complete bike and it has the HMF then when I look at the scale 10 as a frame only it says it has HMX. What is the difference between these two things? I'm assuming one it lighter and or stiffer than the other. But I have no idea. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks guys.

According to Scotts website - HMX is 20% stiffer and about 100g lighter.

My Spark 30 is HMF and it is plenty stiff enough. I haven't ridden a HMX frame so can't answer your question directly, but 20% of plenty stiff enough is simply more plenty stiff enough.

I have ridden both a 2008 spark 10 which is HMX and a 2008 spark 15 which is HMF. I couldnt tell any difference in the stiffness. I would say that 20% stiffer is a generous interpretation of some arbitrary engineering metric.

    Sooo

The Scott Scale HMF frame question here...

I realise the Scott Carbon Fiber HMX or HMX SL are the top of the line, but besides the extra few lbs in weight the HMF version has over the previous said two, is it the same ride?

I read somewhere that a quality Aluminium Frame out performs a budget CF frame and seeing as this is their entry model does this apply to HMF?

I think they were referring to stiffness/feel/flex.

On a full suspension frame that's available in aluminum, cheap CF, and fancy CF weight is the only difference you'll feel. Manufacturers build them all to the same stiffness and strength requirements.
    Keep the Country country.
