    Superlight 29 fork offset

Does anybody know what the recommended fork offset is for a SL 29 for a 120 mm fork? I have the opportunity to put a 120 mm fox fork on mine. The fork as a 51 mm offset (which I thought was mostly for Trek bikes). The fork would replace the stock 100 mm recon.

    Thanks.

I would email SC tech support and ask them. My 2013 SL 29 came with a 46 mm offset fork. I asked them same question about a different model and they got back to me within a day. I think you really want to know if they would recommend a 51 mm or if it would negatively impact handling.

Good idea, I sent them an email. I will post the response that I receive.

    Thanks,

Here is the response from Santa Cruz.

"No harm in trying. Conceivably, that offset is going to make it handle a bit quicker. Pretty small difference though, and since you are putting on a fork that is going to slacken the bike a little because of the longer travel, the difference will probably....offset itself. "
