    heckler sizing

i am finally about to order my heckler. just one small problem, sizing. On the SC website, a medium frame is recommended for a 5' 6" rider. However, I recently tested a medium Bullit and it felt rather large. Would a medium Heckler feel the same? Unfortunately I havent been able to locate a small or medium Heckler to try out. Does any one around my height have any advice of sizing. FWIW, my xc bike is a medium SC Superlight. Im thinking of the small Heckler but not 100%. any info is appreciated. BTW 30" inseam.

The sizing of a medium heckler should be pretty well the same as your medium superlight. The same top tube, seat tube lenght , and standover height. If you went to a small heckler, according to SantaCruz's site, you would loose about 2" in top tube length, (which I think is quite a bit) and 3" in seat tube length, but maintain same standover( I guess due going to the straight top tube). The Bullit will seem quite a bit bigger due to the higher bottom bracket for longer travel (2+")

I'm 5''5", 27 inch inseam and ride a small heckler with a 100mm stem...fits me perfectly. I'm willing to bet you could get a small or medium to fit you...but real tough call on which would be perfect. If you plan on doing some hucking with it, I'd say it's better to err on the side of small....medium would probably give you a more "cross-country" feel.

The more out of shape you are, the steeper the hill looks.
