Chameleon for xc singlespeed racing?? xpost ss

As some of you may know, I have been spending a decent amount of time riding urban, park, and doing some jumping this winter. I'm not sure what spring will hold for me but I have really been enjoying this kind of riding and think that I'll be doing more of it and less xc racing as we begin to thaw out. That said, I'm strting to think the Blizzard might need to be replaced with something a bit more burly. I LOVE the Blizz but I'm thinking something like a Santa Cruz Chameleon might be better suited for my riding. The reviews are awesome if you want a dirt jumper/urban/park bike. What I want to know is if the bike is too much bike for xc racing (particularly singlespeed xc racing). I'd be doing more endurance stuff (12hr/24hr) than anything else. Has anyone had much experience with this bike for those purposes?

Thanks all and depending on the replies, you might want to check the classifieds and/or email me if you want a 2003 17.5" Blizzard frame.

    xc cham

I ride my Cham. with an MRP and I do epic xc rides with it. It is not too heavy for fun rides but it is a big bike. If you want to make podium and havent bought the Cham. yet I would look else where. I feel confident trowing it into rock gardens and the rear is sooooo stiff but it is heavy. My bianchi bass is way lighter and but not as stiff. so if you want to give up weight for bomb proof cham all the way.
