    Salsa Vaya Toe Clearance

    Howdy ya'll,

I bought the Salsa Vaya Claris in August. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for improving the toe clearance because I enjoy riding it in kind of hairy situations if you know what I mean. I am VERY NEW to upgrading and customizing bikes, so bear with me please!! I am using this bike as my first foray into this sort of a thing.

Anyway, my only uninformed idea I have been able to come up with--apart from just improving my riding (not pedaling through a tight turn etc)--is to get a slightly shorter crankset (1"). One of the things I love about salsa is that they really go for that beautiful middle ground between the mountain and the road, and the toe clearance is the only thing that is really missing here (for me, personally). I also recognize that I may be using the vaya slightly outside of it's intended purpose, but hey, that's just how I do stuff.

Any other ideas? Would really appreciate feedback!
