Salsa Bucksaw 1 Review Fun
Demoed a large Bucksaw 1 today.
All I can say was very fun and playful!!!!
My ride was chimney gulch in Golden, a ride a ride 2+ days a week in the summer.
The trail today was everything, wet, completely dry, ice and snow packed.
The bike is very nimble climbing. I got all the switch backs up on lower and middle, and I do not get them all the time in the summer. The front wheel lifted nicely over water bars and rocks. I was running 8psi tubeless.
The geometry on the bike just felt great.
Descending it felt great and playful. Front wheel lifted great for manuals through rock gardens and with the low psi and full suspension along with the traction it was just fun to ride.
All I can say this bike was very fun. I thought more fun on the dirt sections than snow, but I am not a snow biker. I ski in the winter.
Bikes I have owned or own and really like Tallboy, 14 Horsethief, 5010
This bike had the playfulness of the above bikes with the dialed geometry of the horsethief. Low, slack and short chainstays.
Other fat bikes I have ridden in years past, pugsley, carbon beargrease, mutluck.
This was the first fat bike that I really liked riding, just fun.

Thanks for the review. My bucksaw frame should be here next week. I guess I need to finish deciding on the parts to slap on it.
