On the fence Pony Rustler or Process 153

    Howdy all,
    first time on this board.
    Looking to get a 27.5 +?
I have it narrowed down to a 2018 Pony Rustler or an older Process 153.

Iíve been leaning toward the Salsa, but have read about frame cracks- are these on aluminum frames or carbon? I found a couple posts on this forum referencing cracked BB that were carbon, so my question is how do the aluminum one should up.

I have a lot of experience with Kona still have a Dawg and a Dawg Deluxe in my quiver, but am intrigued by the Pony Rustler

Both would be used bikes anyway blew the fun budget on the Tacoma.
medium sized rider 5í9Ē about 170#. Mostly summer use but want to get out in winters and these type are the ticket.

I also hear they are getting away from alloy frames and going to CF on the Rustlers, unless I missed something

    Thanks

FWIW....I've been on a carbon Deadwood for a year now and so far so good. However, last summer was a bust with the fires around me. Hoping to really get some miles on it this year.
It was a spontaneous purchase and as soon as I started reading about the plastic bikes breaking I had serious buyers remorse. I weigh in at 220 and am slightly concerned about busting my bike and my ass. 5 year warranty is nice and all but, when I read about people on their 3rd replacement frames it makes me a bit nervous. Hard to say if it's a small segment of riders or if it's really just a matter of time before it fails.
My next bikes will all be metal. Good luck and happy trails.

Copy that, I have an offer in on a 2016 Kona Process 153, and an eye on an aluminum Pony Rustler so hopefully one of them will be in my quiver this summer.
Itching to try a +sized tire on the tree root strewn local trails up here. My 10+ yr old Dawg is set up with some 2.25s which help a lot, so the 27.5 + tires maybe what the Dr ordered.
Thanks for the feedback, get out and ride!
