Fargo tire request...
What is a good multi use tire for a fargo assuming it will be a 60/40 split between road/off road? The stock tires are a little tough on road. Looking for a good all use tire so I can throw on 30 miles of road to get to 30 miles of dirt road, double track, and rail trail.

How about Conti. Race Kings? I use them quite a bit on road (commuting) with my Mamasita.

I use the clement mso in the widest version. Not the greatest off road but they work well enough for me.

Race kings seem to be similar to the Schwalbe's that come stock on it. How do they roll on pavement?
I have the MSO 40's on my cross bike now. Work great on the road. If they were only a little wider, say 2.1" width, they would be perfect.
I'll troll the tire websites some more to see if I can find something.
Are there any commuter tires that would fit the bill for off road use?
Thanks for the suggestions!

For me Nanoraptors have been perfect! Also liked the Clement 40mm tires and the Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road.

I was looking at the Rock n Road. Never saw them mounted to a fargo. Nano's are a good call. What size nano's are you using?

I'm running Rock and Roads and luv 'em. The Fargo's never switching tires again. I ride 5.5 miles of gravel road, 8 miles of crushed lime MUP and 4.5 miles of pavement each way on my current commute route. The Rock and Road's only weakness seems to be mud (they don't clear well), but I don't ride the Fargo in muddy conditions on purpose.

I'm running 2.1" Nanoraptors on a Velocity Blunt 35 rim. I have had the Fargo set up many ways, but for me, this is the perfect setup. I ride pavement, prefer gravel and two track trails, and use the Fargo as my all around ride for exploring southwestern WI and bikepacking. I did a week long tour on mixed roads with the Rock 'n Roads and like them as well.

X2 on the Race Kings. They roll much better than the Ralph's on pavement and do surprisingly well on singletrack. I have an older Fargo and they came stock on mine, still throw one on the back when I travel so I can ride everything.

Ralph's are bad on the road. I think my lbs has some race kings. I'll take a peek at those. I also want to Cleveland out the nanos and the rock and roads. That should be a good start.

Ok here's my two cents. Just completed a 2 day 175 mile ride. 60/40 (dirt road - gravel)/ pavement. 2.1 Nano upfront to keep the gravel honest and a Schwalbe marathon dureme 2.0 "a true touring tire" out back for super efficient road miles yet had plenty traction in the loose stuff. Both pumped to 40 psi. Simply can't explain in words how much fun the trip was.
