    Fargo Test Ride

    Hey Guys,

I found a sweet deal online for a Salsa Fargo. Unfortunately I haven't ridden a Salsa, and so I"m little nervous about sizing. I'm 5 foot 11, with a 33 inseam. I think I'm probably between a Med - Large.

Salsa sizing online says I should be a large, but I noticed a lot of folks my size ride a medium.

On a related note, I'm i the DC area... does anyone wanna let me go on a test ride with their bike? 6 pack of beer and an abundance of appreciation would be your gift!

    - C

I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam, and the med. Fargo always felt just slightly on the small side, even with a setback seatpost and a 90mm stem.

If I was going to buy one again, I'd probably get a large.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I kind of want to go for it, but buying a bike online without sizing is just such a gamble.

Same basic measurements as you; I had a Medium...it's do-able but a Large really felt better.

Same as Smithhammer; set-back post an 90 mm stem...

Either one would probably work. I just preferred the 'roominess' of the Large.

Also-if this matters- medium has 44cm wide bars, Large is 46cm.

Just to add to your confusion I'm 6'3" with about a 35" inseam and I ride a large. All the fitment experts would put me on the XL, but I like the large. Its mainly that I like to be very upright (less lower back strain) so I like the shorter reach of the large.

I'm 6' 1 1/2", 34 1/2" inseam and I ride a Large with lots of a seatpost exposed and 100mm stem with some rise. Seatpost has quite a bit of setback as well. Size is just right for me.

My wife is 5'9" with a 33" inseam and rides a medium. She has put around 100 miles on my large Fargo before she got her own and definitely prefers the medium.
