    Bucksaw and dropper post question

    Hi everyone,

I am the owner of a 2014 or 15 Salsa Bucksaw size small, which currently has a Rock Shox Reverb 125mm travel post. I am considering a 150mm post, but am not sure if this frame will accommodate one.

I figure the current seat tube may have up to 158mm of length (6.25" or so). Would you happen to know if a 150mm Fox Transfer or other relatively inexpensive 150mm travel cable-actuated dropper posts will fit in this frame?

    Thanks!

You will need to calculate. My small Bucksaw will accommodate maximum of 165mm inside the seat tube due to the bend in the tube. Might be less depending if the cable mechanism is at the bottom of the dropper. Based on that and the distance needed from the top of the seat tube to the saddle rails you will need to calculate if the dropper will not be too tall for your fit. You can always pull the dropper out of the seat tube if needed until the minimum insertion level for your post but you will not be able to push it in more than 165mm if it happens to be too tall at maximum extension of the dropper.

Thank you. I can live with the 125 for now and found SRAM’s guide to measuring online.

It seems like the RS Reverb that came with the Small is a 100mm post. I took a KS Lev 125 from another bike and put it on a Medium BS frame and work well.
