    Beargrease 2x10 to 1x10

Just picked up a 2016 Beargrease X7. Pretty awesome bike, BUT would like to run 4.6 on rear and understand, according to Salsa, that this works with 1x10 drivetrain.

Was planning on a type 2 X9 RD anyway, What else do I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I converted my 2014 X9. I put a wolftooth 30t direct mount dropstop chainring on and that was it. I don't have a clutch rear derailleur and I have not dropped a chain once. Try it without the clutch derailleur first. You may be surprised. The wolftooth chainring has been great.

Did the same conversion with my 2014 X9 and the results are exactly the same. I didn't add a clutch derailleur until I ripped the original off the bike! Zero issues and no dropped chains.
There are three kinds of people: those of us that are good at math and those that are not.
