27.5+ or 29" for my new fargo.
I am doing my first ever bike build, a Fargo.
But what wheel size to choose, as the budget will only allow one set. (wife's order)

This bike will be my do everything but single track, as I have a full suspension for that. It will be my commute bike and my adventure bike.
80% Payment 20% gravel as well as bikepacking, No singletrack other than for fun.

    What would YOU choose?:madman:

    29. 27.5 plus would not be fun on a commute. If you have a fs for singletrack, that makes for an easy decision, my two cents.

No official study/data of it but when I see the term 'Adventure Bike', I think of 27.5+ and they also show up on some bike packer rides too. These as rigid or hard tail were often reviewed quite well for a good all-arounder or trail bike.

Have not done any big trips or bike packing but the fun factor and nice ride is pay off enough for me thus far, a steel 1x11 w/ SLX and the recon fork.

If it's 80% pavement then the 29er makes sense. Try a 27.5 plus bike on the road and you will instantly see the issues. The feel is like you are riding through wet cement. What's interesting to me is that full fat on the road is zipper and a lot more fun than the plus sizes. Off road 27.5+ is great. On road it's very different.

For "80% Payment 20% gravel as well as bikepacking, No singletrack other than for fun" I would get a Vaya or Warbird
