    Socially distant Vertex fitting

So I am looking at rejoining the Rocky Mountain world and buying a 2019 Vertex C70, but I am a bit confused with the sizing, and with the lockdown I don't have the luxury to compare/contrast sizes....etc

I am 6', 33" inseam, and my wingspan is 6'1".

With most brands I would just buy a Large no questions asked, but RM seems to fit smaller.

    The RM site lists:

    L: 5'8"-6'0"
    XL: 5'11"- 6'3"

I am skeptical because this is their size chart across the entire line of bikes, and not Vertex specific.

    Any guidance?

You're in that mystical overlap range between sizes. I'm 6'-1" and ride a Large frame comfortably, but I have a 6'-3" wingspan with average torso and leg length. I also don't like the 15mm jump in head tube size that usually goes with an XL frame, I like to keep my bars low. You can get a reasonable fit from either frame size by playing with stem length and seatpost offset, it depends a lot on how much room you want in the cockpit when moving around out of the saddle. If you like lots of space then the 25mm extra HTT length of the XL could be beneficial.

    Thanks! That is very helpful!

That gives me the confidence that the L frame would likely be a good choice, but if based on a quick sitting I prefer the XL I won't be afraid to go with it.
