    rocky mountain element 999

Just got a new 999. right out of the box I noticed the rear shock was stuck down to 10 % sag.My psi would be at 230 psi, but i have to set it at 275. but it drops to 35 percent sag and stays compressed at 10 % with no one on it.If I release all of the air out of the shock and pressurize it will extend fully.and onlt takes 230 psi to get 15 % sag.But as soon as you cycle it thru the suspension a few times it gets stuck at 10 %. and then the sag will drop to 35 %.

That sounds like it might be a warranty problem.

For what it is worth, I had an issue with my fox front not fully extending. At 70 psi, which is appropriate for me, I wasn't getting full travel. I would have 15 mm less travel even when when I wasn't sitting on it. My dealer called fox and they said it would take 20 or so rides for the shock to break in and I should get full travel. I'm not sure if this applies to the rear shock or not.

Thanks. Rock shox and RM admitted they have an issue with rebound sticking. They will replace the shock if you go to a dealer. They have known about this for quit awhile. You can set the pressure and it will stick down. But you can sit on the rear tire and extend it back open by grabbing the seat. They are still letting these bikes go out with the issue. One tell tale sign is if you have to pressure it up to the max and still cant get propper sag................it is sticking
