RM carbon frames with PF bb's

good day eh. are Rocky's pretty good on their frame tolerances in the bb area? as i consider getting a new RM carbon bike with PF92 i'm curious as to whether they are problematic or not.

    thanks.

They seem to creak less in that area than some of the other bands I've dealt with, and I've never seen one sent back for BB area tolerance issues, and I've seen very, very few manufacturing tolerance issues at all (I think something like 2 in 5 years or so? and my sample size is BIG). Generally they seem very, very good, but of course you could be the unlucky one.

Although personally I always use Wheels threaded press fit BB's which would help with this stuff if it turned out bad.

i've got the impression that RMB carbon frames are up there in quality, and they sure look it in person, but i've never owned one. yeah i figure if i go this route, after the stock bb dies, i'd go the Wheels Mftg bb afterwards.

Started with a chris king press fit BB in a 2011 Element, then moved that BB to a 2017 Element. No problems with either frame or the BB

I've run the Shimano PF BB in the 2011 Element MSL frame and currently running a Race Face PF BB in a Thunderbolt carbon frame with nary a creak. I did use a bit of synth grease when I installed them.

I have owned both an aluminum and carbon Element 29er as well as a Vertex carbon 29 with the pf bb92. All three had no squeaking or other issues, used RF 30mm cinch bb/cranks on them FWIW. I also used synthetic grease like rockyuphill did.

On my third frame since 2013 with the PF, never a freak from there on any of them. Ever.
