Convert 2017 Vertex 950 to 12x142 rear thru axle

Bought a set of wheels with hope hubs and didnt plan the rear axle correctly. The hubs have a 12x142 thru axle and my bike is setup for a regular qr . Is it possible to convert the bike to a 12x142 thru axle? Id prefer doing that than buying the parts to convert the hubs to a QR.

The frame can't be converted, the 142x12 dropouts are entirely different than the 135mm QR.

The ideal thing would be to convert the Hope rear hub to use a 135x10mm thru axle and use a DT Swiss RWS thru axle. Much sturdier than a conventional QR.

Gotcha. Im just getting back into MTB after a long hiatus. All of these standards are dizzying, lol!

Once I convert the hub, its just a simple as getting the correct axle? Nothing else needs done?

With the 10mm axle conversion, it behaves just like a standard QR hub, just stiffer and easier to tighten up, with no chance of a QR skewer opening up. There's only one length of 10mm RWS as well.

Excellent, thank you for the help! I have one of these on order! Just need to order the end caps for my hubs now.

I remember back in the day when everything was pretty well a standard size. Now there doesnt really seem to be a standard.

Standards are like points, a point in every direction is the same as no point at all. Bike hardware standards are becoming like that. At some point, there's no point.
