Cool-blue Rhythm c90 altitude vs instinct bc edition andddddd GO!

So here's something I find interesting, no one really talks about the c90 vs BC instinct both 2018 models.

What is the difference to you, OTHER than 29er vs 27.5.

I currently own and love my altitude c90 but I'm VERY tempted to pick up the instinct bc edition with an extra wheel set of 27.5 plus for winter riding, I feel where I live, fat bike not really necessary, so many of them out there already packing down the trails. No intent to sell the altitude for the acquisition, the only thing holding me back from purchase, is I feel they are maybe too similar.

    Curious how this will go.

Those will be very very similar bikes in terms of travel, wheelbase and geometry angles, some of the Instinct drivetrain is lower priced to keep the cost down, but the suspension components are the same on both. The Instinct does give you that option of fitting the 27.5+ wheelset, you might make the Altitude obsolete if you have one of each 29/27.5+ wheelsets

Yeah, that's what I figured. Just wanted a second opinion. I'd love to pick one up, essentially for the 27.5+ but I can't convince myself because it's essentially the same bike as the altitude. Just 29er and cheaper drive train, don't get me wrong, love my altitude. Just winter is here and I'd love to ditch the fatbike for a plus bike instead.

Have you thought of getting a 26+ wheelset for the altitude?

I like this idea. But at the same time... I'm really tempted by the instinct still... can't sell the altitude it's just spec'd well and is SO fudging fun... the instinct could be awesome though. The problem still for me is the instinct is still essentially a 29er altitude with a lower part spec and I'm good with it. I'm s till VERY tempted.

    Here's why.

I want a fast 29er for summer, daily grind exercise, likely on pavement half the time.

I want a 27.5+ with studded tires for a winter ride for the trails here. The instinct fits this bill. But will it be fast on a daily grind? I'm uncertain. Perhaps a hardtail is the way for me here... just... not TOTALLY sold on hard tail... it's just not , as fun.

Am I nuts? What bike would you look into? I'm very open minded.

Having just sold my Trek I'm in the same boat. I'm leaning towards Pipeline with 29 carbon wheels for the summer months, Sram 12 speed with Shimano brakes FTW !!
