2015 instinct 970 Pivot maitenance question

I have a 2015 that I bought mid summer of 2016 so it has a summer and a half of riding. Winter I don't ride. Should I buy the grease gun from Rocky mountain? What is the timeframe / maintenance all the link / pivot should get ?

    Thanks

    Ernie

If you do ride in wet/mucky weather you might need to apply some grease to the pivots a couple of times a month. And the pivots should be checked and/or serviced at least as frequently as the fork gets serviced. If you have a local dealer it is likely just as easy to take the bike in and have the LBS apply the grease to it.

I do my own service on my fork and sleeve so I should be able to take care of it. Thanks for the info.

If you're already doing that level of service it's worth spending the bucks on a grease gun. I actually use an old Manitou needle type grease gun dating back to the dawn of suspension forks. It works fine.

It is easier to squeeze the grease in if you back the bolts off so they are just loose and then re-Loctite them and snug them up again.
