    Another P-29 build

I'm feeling like there's not enough Ritchey love going around here so I thought I'd post my P-29 build I finished last month:

Nothing exceptional about the build on my part, just a mix of SLX and XT parts, but the frame is the important part to me. I researched hardtail frames for quite a while and I realized for my type of fast XC riding and my trails, the latest style of slack frames, long forks, and/or fat tires made no sense. Maybe being an engineer and designer myself influenced my decision- after reading and watching everything I could about Tom Ritchey I started to appreciate his wealth of knowledge and practical view to the design of bikes.

A few specs for the curious:

Frame weight, size medium: 4.45 lbs (less than 1 lb heavier than my old Niner aluminum frame)
Rear tire size: 2.35 Nobby Nic on Blunt SL rim. Not a lot of extra room but no rubbing so far, and I don't ride in mud.

All in all I'm super happy with the P-29 frame! It's not a flexy steel noodle, nor is it over built. It's just perfect and I like it more every ride. It's giving me the confidence to hit some tricky stuff I normally avoid, and I'm looking forward to racing it next season.

What's your fork length on that bad boy? I was thinking about a 120mm.

Running a 100mm fork. I don't need any more than that in Central Ohio.
