Why Lee and Sharon haven't been biking much - 2011 edition

t's not officially over yet but pow is probably done. Now its coming up to bike season but the skiing definitely was good

Nov - Dec 2010 started out strong - even the Blackcomb Glacier had good coverage

The Duffey delivered the best coverage in years

Just as a mid-winter snow drought hit Whistler we picked an opportune time to head to the Western Rockies - 225cms fell in January alone in Icefall Lodge

February rolls around and some spots in Battle Abbey come up for grabs at a discount so off Shar and I go again.

Comes March and we're practically living in the Duffey as it keeps dumping. Inbounds is a place to go for weekdays and backcountry is an escape from the Mongol hordes

No change for April - but by now we're living in the Joffre Group and stable pow is in full force with a huge snowpack

and a last kick at the can for the Blackcomb backcountry and the Duffey

I'm not a ski or board guy, but that looks to be a fairly fabulous reason to not be on a bike.

Coming into our winter, and I haven't really given much thought to skiing this year, but you've made the old longing for the hills return... Wish ours were as magnificent as yours.

Incredible pics. Wow! My brain made the transition from two planks to two wheels about a month ago, but you've just reset the clock.

Impressive lines there Lee. You should probably have your watermark on many of those. I had a few powder days this winter but none in terrain that good.

    Thanks for posting those

Everything in my life says move west....your pictures confirm this.

Love skiing, but here in the north east...small icy hills and short season.

Biking in this area in the summer...lots of rain, humid...buggy..not much land nearby where you can go forever on a bike.

    Will keep dreaming.

Well done. Looks like "bike season" may only be about 3 months long this year.

Done. Skied the obvious line in front and 2 of the 3 that you can't see on the back side which are N- facing and better
