Two cougars by on my neighbor's yard

Not fake news and not click bait.

    Felton, March 5.

Crazy huh. Hundreds live here in the Bay Area hills but 99.99% have never seen them. Not even park rangers.

Scary but there are almost zero attacks on humans in the last decade.

Mating season so they kind of lose track of where they are.

Yep, awesome critters and seldom seen. And itís that time of year. Itís a mating pair. The only time you see two together is during mating season or a mother and cubs. Other times of the year they are loners.

Pretty cool and such a treat for the home owner.

I've seen one on the outskirts of town in Reno and another in the SFO Bay Area hills in an area I regularly rode. Subsequently, I would talk loudly and make noises riding through that area when I was alone, particularly at dusk.
    Do the math.

10yrs ago I saw one of the Florida variety as I was driving out of the picnic area in Everglades Natl Park. Decades of trying to get one on film while living in Northern Nevada and here I see one just outside of metro Miami. Scary to me was the fact I'd just been feeding my 5 and 3yr old boys lunch; with that predator lurking close by. My wife slowly went pale as that thought sunk in.

Those cats sure haven't been hurting for meals. And I'm not sure about Mtn. Lion mating habits but it sure looked like the one laying on the ground was saying, not tonight, forget about it. And a smack on the face as well.
    Saddle up, Effendi. We ride.

    Lol
Thatís cats behavior. Even domestic cats act like that as a mating ritual.
