I was really disappointed when I noticed the ads on top of MTBR emails (new response notification emails) recently.

At least they are not the annoying pop-ups. I don't mind margin ads. MTBR staff, for what it's worth, I have bought bike stuff from the ads on this site. Keep all ads relevant if possible.

Unless you just got AOL a few months ago, most people are on the internet ave banner blindness anyway.
Id guess the google ads on here just about break even with hosting...

I know they're not considering it, but I just want to put it out there- I'd pay a few bucks a month to see no (or significantly less) advertising. I am glad that the ads are usually relevant though...

there are just tooo many,.. this site doesn't cost all that much.. hell I run mine ad-less.. sure, make a buck or 2 if you can. But I will say the amount of them (and all the animations) make it suck... #1 reason I don't come here as often as I'd like.
Going to try and bring Trail Tire TV back. go take a look... http://trailtiretv.blogspot.com/

Maybe if UNICEF starts running mountain bike resource sites. Until then you'll have to deal with ads.

never said stop advertising... just kick the animations down.. I think every web designer should have to view everything off a dial up line.. the bandwidth over head through out the internet would be a lot lower! I mean just read above,.. everyone is using Ad blocker... what is the point of these companies paying to advertise if no one is seeing them because they are soo annoying and slow loading that everyone is blocking them... there fore not being seen.... kinda counter productive I'd think...?

that's not a bad idea either,... though the ads thems selves don't bother me so much... hell sometimes I even click on stuff I'm interested in... it's just the amount of bandwidth it takes to load a single page here... keep the ads... kill and ani's!!

not saying the people who take care of the site, im refering to who reaps the benifits of the ads.

And although they are much cheaper than ebay fees, how come there are fees for classifides? what other forum does that? bogus. there should be a minimum post count, but not a fee.
