    People really suck Passion.....

....I remember what Les Stroud (the guy that films Suvivorman) once said, "no matter where you go on this Earth you'll always find trash". The Las Vegas desert is riddled with junk that people have dumped or haul out there to shot and didn't pick it up. Today's ride I found lots of dumpsites, some funny graffiti and a local wildlife resident.

It's Garmin 705 (love the 705) mounted on the stem. I've seen people mount it on the top tube as well in case they crash they say it's less likely to get damaged.... I just say, don't crash

My Wife was born in 69. I was going to bring it home so we could look through it together but she wouldn't touch it if I told her where I found it. I did flip through it and the pictures in there are classic!

The cynic in me agrees....people do suck. Keep riding, at least that way most of the people you run across don't suck.

BTW, I envy your handlebar.....should've got my hands on one before they went belly up.

It's lowlife tweeker scum, that dumps their crap in the desert, where I live. Sad, but there's no way to stop it, the meth freaks and criminals operate between 3 and 4AM, when working people are asleep. Look at the bright side, you got to go riding today, I didn't. I've worked every single weekend for 2 years straight.

I don't understand the dumping. But then, many people see the desert as a huge wasteland.

Thanks for the photos. And how fortunate to find a tortoise! I got some photos of one when I went to the Valley of Fire, I believe that's in your neighborhood.

Can't wait to retire to the desert SW.

Sad, but true, the world does not lack for lowlifes. On the bright side, there are those that rise to the call to clean up after them. Were this not so, our trails and roadsides would all be long skinny landfills.

You could at least sell the cassette tape on ebay.....that was probably the only one ever purchased. haha
It could have been worse....at least no one urinated on the trail in front of you....I understand that will ruin your day.

Littering and illegal dumping have got to be the most ignorant thing a human can do. Come on folks. We all have to live here.

I found some trash someone had dumped when I was scouting trails up on Squaw Peak a few years ago and went back up later with my son and my truck and cleaned it up. I found some mail with their address on it and sent them a note telling them I'd taken it to the landfill for them. Next time I was sending the cops to their house....after dumping it in their yard. Idiot, low-life sum.

Cool pics, Matt. Good to see you're riding. You're really getting in the miles. Still snowing up here.

I've never seen a large city I've liked. Sucky people abound in larger populations. Small cities and towns are way more pleasant.
Case in point: Boulder CO, Hood River OR, Ithaca NY, Bellingham WA, Burlington VT. They all rock and are all either small cities or large towns.

No shortage of backcountry dumps in the Appalachian region either. Poached animal carcasses, appliances and tires seem to be the most common items.
