    Monty Python

I was out for a ride this morning when I got the inevitable azionics platform pedal gouge on my leg.It was bleeding but I wasnt going to stop for that. I am wearing a monty python black knight tshirt, I am almost back to the trailhead when this hiker says to me" Dude you are bleeding!". I of course replied" It's just a flesh wound", I don't think he understood.

He didn't get it because you still had both arms and legs.

    Good One !

I remember the first time I heard Monty Python. It was an "album" in a buddies room in the dorm ~ 1973. It was years later I finally saw the old reruns on TV.

I've used that line more times than I can remember, "It's just a flesh wound, I've had worse"

Had a rider with a cut knee say that on an MBO ride a few years ago. The MP quotes went on for 15 minutes.

actually its more along the lines of

"HELP HELP I'm being repressed. Come see the violence inherent to the system!"

which is from one of the two best scenes in the movie. The other classic line from that scene is

"A woman handing out swords in the middle of a lake is no sound basis for a system of government"
"Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth"

    I'm not dead yet!

Completed my first 50 mile race/ride tour (yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haw!!!!) and a fellow traveler and I would say "not dead yet" as we leapfrogged each other, walking up the hills and such.

When I was going through IOBC at Ft. Benning a ~ few ~ years ago, one classmate tried being funny and used a quote from The Holy Grail as one of his essay answers. The instructor gave him an B for the effort and then stood up in front of the class and recited the clip from the movie, correcting the small mistake that was made in the essay.

    Funny as hell.

I was wearing my "I'm not dead yet" shirt I git a Spamalot last year and this older lady (70's) came up to me and asked where she could get one- she thought it just referred to being old...

Hope I don't look that old at 44...

John Cleese has by far, the best comedic timing on the planet, bar none, save, perhaps, Eric Idle.

I did watch that movie again last week. Still as great as the first time I saw it years ago. In the DVD-extra part, two of them were at the castle where they filmed most of it. The guy running the gift shop said that most people come into his shop and ask to see the coconuts.
You'd have to see the film to know why.

When I took it back to Blockbuster I asked the lady if she'd seen it. Turns out the only MP she's ever seen was the live on-stage vid that even I didn't like. I said "you have to watch The Holy Grail". Then I said I'm going to "run away run away".

First time I ever saw titties on TV. The local Milwaukee PBS station back in the day (i.e. mid to late 70's) used to air episodes, including the tits in all their glory ("boobs", if tits is blocked by the MTBR censors). Pretty big deal for a 10 year old.
