Moab riding, June 29-July 1st.. any takers?

After departing Durango on the 28t Shay and I will pop up to Moab for 3 days of riding. Again, we would love to hook up with some others who know the area.
And also again we still haven't finalized our lodging options but are looking at either a hostel or the Slickrock campground.
Once again if anyone has room to put us up for a few days we will repay your kindness in art.

    Moab Brewery

Stop by Chile Pepper! It was a few years ago but I can't imagine Moab without them. It's right next to the brew Pub. Camping is the only way to go.

Would love to go... ....but you better plan of riding really really early in the morning....the weather might be brutal!. I'd suggest starting at sunrise and enjoying the amazing light.

Weather will be brutal. Don't forget about the La Salle Mountains only about 1/2 hour out of town. Beautiful mountain riding.

Yeah, take LOTS of water and your headlamp. Early am or night riding is the best during that time of year when temps can be in the 120F range.

Loosely, March through mid April and mid September through October. A Group of us have been going the 1st or 2nd week of October over the years and the temps have been nice. Some cold nights and chilly mornings but the rest of the time just right

Yeah, we already planned on doing our riding in the AM. We tend to usually ride in the mornings anyway so it works out well. We might make a return trip in September for some hopefully cooler temps.

Being from Texas we're pretty familiar with heat so as long as we don't get stupid it shouldn't really be an issue.

    Moab Trip

We have found that the best time to ride Moab is in April. The weather the last 2 years has been great. Accept for a couple of quick snow showers the temp is mostly in the 70's to high 60's. The only trouble with that time of year is that the La Salle mountain trails are closed then due to snow cover. All other trails rock though.
