From the last couple of rides.... Photos.

I'm in the middle of sending my oldest off to college, so we've been trying to get in lots of rides before he leaves. Actually, we've been doing that all summer. It's been wonderful riding with him, he's so much fun!

First of all, good morning! This one was taken off the back deck this morning.

    From Saturday:

    From yesterday:

Actual shot of me. Keith took the camera and insisted I go back and get my photo taken, since I'm usually the one taking the shots.

And here are the rest from the day:

I'll be taking more photos tonight. It will be Jordan's last kids' ride before I take him to college tomorrow. Having a hard time wrapping my head around that one!

First ride was Holy Cross. Second one was in that area, just a bit higher and far more remote.

I hear she's a middle aged woman that rides a rigid singlespeed. Probably too snarky and old for you.

The first one was with my Canon EOS Rebel. Bottom of the line digital SLR, but good enough for me. I do ride with it when it's not a long ride. I carry it in a Lowepro backpack. However, that means I have less water one the ride, so the rides tend to be shorter, unless I can get someone to carry water for me. It also changes the ride for me, I will not be quite so aggressive on the techy stuff.

The rest of the shots were taken with a Nikon Coolpix. Just a little $140 camera that I picked up about 3-4 years ago. I'm pretty happy with the quality of the pictures from it, although it is rather limiting. It's small enough to fit into the hydration pack.

Ahhh.... nice refreshing dose of western USA, land I do so miss... thanks! How exciting? Sending a kiddo off to college? At year 4 here with my little guy, that seems like eons away. Today, on a whopping 6 mile XC ride here in the MASS, at Dogtown (Gloucester, MA) I got 37 mosquito bites and lost 3 times. Then it rained.

Fun? Yes. I gotta say mainly due to this years new found love a simple, rigid, 1 speed 29" wheeled machine. Now that I'm back where it all started - makes sense to get back to what feels like some kind of roots - geographically and mechanically.

Nice pics everyone, thanks for posting.
