Back Country Excursions,llc: Home - Back Country Excursions now on its' 25th year is looking for a guide or two to assist with its everyday operations. Over the years we've hosted adventure seekers for several days. Their primary interest is in biking and particularly learning the skills for safe and fun Mt biking. All our guests are on vacation and staying at our lodge which is situated on a 9,000 acre semi-wilderness area in Southern Maine(2 hours North of Boston). Here they find it easy to relax, have fun, and get a good work-out, while learning skills required for Mt biking. We have designed special trails,(30miles), that are flowing and fun for all riding levels, a portion of which work particularly well for road cyclists interested in learning Mt biking.

This position is available to both men and women and is a live in position. Lodging and food is included.

Job description: 4-5 days per week.(working mainly Wednesday till Sunday noontime) 3 of the days we'll be primarily hanging out with and guiding clients on trails, teaching skills, and doing some light prepping for breakfast and lunch meals at the lodge. Guests will be assisting us with both prep and cleanup during meals but often they'll do most of the cleanup after the two meals (breakfast and lunch) that we serve. Clients are on their own for dinner. 1-1.5 days we'll be setting up lodge reservations for arriving guests. and on rare occasions do some trail maintenance.

Salary: Wages + tips = $1,100-$1400 per month. There is little to no expenses as lodging and food is included.

This position is ideally suited for folks interested in pursuing careers in Outdoor Recreation and Hospitality industry. However, if you're outgoing/people person or adventurous and have good biking /Mt biking experience this will also be a great opportunity for lots of riding while meeting other riders from around the US and abroad. You can expect up close and fun experiences with guests as well as sharing in work projects, knowledge of the business, and profits with the founder/ operations leader of Back Country Excursions.
