A few photos from the weekend....

A couple trails. One is iconic, one is just down the street from my house, but well known.

The first trail was so much fun and at I quit taking photos at some point so I could just fly. I'll be going back to get more photos soon, and I'll start up higher.

    Saturday started with this view:

This is one of my all time favorite trails. On this day we had 40 mile an hour gusts to add a little extra spice to an already rather technical singletrack. And I actually got out from behind the camera!

    Duck!

This guy was about 4-5 feet long:

    And everything is blooming!

Awesome. I know that feeling. Sometimes I hate stopping for photos when the flow is good. It's like pulling teeth. However its always a good feeling coming home and opening up the shots. Makes it worth it.

It's hard to relax when you're fighting wind gusts of 40 miles an hour! I had the "wind bobbles" the entire ride, and almost went down a few times when I thought my bike would blow out from under me!

Remember when that tree required a hand plant to get by?

Vaguely, yes. Maybe that's why it's seems so much easier.... Couldn't be the full suspension and gears....

I once came around the corner, only to find Jordan wedged, balanced, both feet on the pedals, hands on the bars, but stuck because his Camelbak was mashed between his back and the tree.

I do remember! It was dodging the bullets that made it more difficult! Those were fun times!

First one is Porcupine Rim in Moab.

The second one is Holy Cross in Grand Junction, CO.

A few years back I endoed by taking a left line just past the tree. When I got my bearings, there was a blue army man on a rock pointing a gun at me, just behind screampint in photo 11. Since I was solo, no one believed me. This was several years after the thread in the quote, but I haven't seen any lately.

Anyone want to bet that Joel has an old bag of plastic army men in his sock drawer?

The River should be putting on a show!

I'll be around, but we have National Trail day stuff and a grad party on Saturday.

Wow! I could never ride there because I would crashing constantly while sight-seeing.

    Great shots!

Holy cr@p, you were not kidding. The river looks like it ate 3 other rivers, and is ready to burst at the seams...

According to the national weather service, it crests tomorrow. I really want to ride near it tomorrow to see it. It's been a long time since the river has been this high!

Given the temps, that probably means leaving the house by 7 am.

Great pics of your ride. I envy all these xc photos of trails you guys have in your back yards. I don't have anything that even comes close to those photos around me.
