A day of firsts (Wife's first ride....and crash)

So I finally got my wife to come ride with me at a nice flat but really technical local trail

We were going pretty slow as she was getting the hang of things for the first 5 miles or so. Then we started another lap and she was opening things up, hitting nice lines, carving corners a bit. Even clearing her first log crossing perfectly! She came over a little tabletop that has a sharp left hander at the bottom and blew her line right into a tree! She was fine, just a bit banged up. She'll have some nice bruises to show for her first ride. The best part is we were loading the bikes up afterwards and she said, "I freaking better have a bruise! I'm not gonna crash and have nothing to show for it!" That's my girl

Can't wait to get her back out to the trails!

Pics (there would be many more but the battery on the camera died )
1- Her newly assembled Trek and my Voodoo ready to go.
2- Geared up and ready to hit it!

You can show them a photo of

what they will ultimately wear and the position they will end up riding in the end. And it will be fact. That has nothing whatsoever to do with what they will do in their own time. Get her what she wants when she says she wants it.

Was it cool out, I noticed she had a sweatshirt on. I rode yesterday for 3 hours in temps ranging from 96-99 degrees. It sucked. Looks like your wife is going well, it'll get you a lot more ride time if she's in to it.

it was cooler to start, pretty breezy. i was in a LS jersey and comfortable.

here in michigan summer comes late but when it does, it can get brutal hot like that too, plus the humidity for a big fella like me it sucks....not really looking forward to that lol.

    Mine too!

My wife also had her first crash today, well just a fall-down really, resulting in a bruise and knot near the ankle she made sure to point out to me (I think it needs a kiss to make it better). She also rides a trek, it's WSD and she likes it much. Your terrain looks alot like ours. Someday I'll take a camera out with, but I'd rather be riding.
