What kind of cam/mount setup are you using? Cool vid and music!

Great video, I love how the camera's focus kept the tire knobs almost locked in place. It has a Guy Ritchie movie feel to it.

Great ride. And if that is winter, you are lucky. Dry, sunny....I think I need to move.

I would love to live in the Grand Junction/Fruita area. I've heard that guys have to wear a skirt to ride with the girls there. I'd do it, but I don't know if I could keep up!

It's just cooling off into fall. Not winter yet!

Just a GoPro. I had it on the handlebars, but when I was "just riding along" it flew off and I had to move it to the seat post. First I had it mounted facing forward, but then I turned it around. I ended up with the back tire shot, but I spared you all the from the crotch shots of my top tube and stem.

I now have a chest mount, but the video from it was mediocre. A lot smoother and less twitchy, but I need to rig it so it's angled up a bit more, too much top tube and trail, not enough sky and trail more than 4 ft away.

I'll just have to go do some more research.... Sigh... That means I'll have to go out and ride...

    Screamy,

Adjust the straps on your chest mount so it rides higher. I had mine lower (at the bottom of the sternum) and got results like you describe. Riding out of the saddle made it even worse. Higher up (like right over the heart) is the sweet spot. You may actually have to angle the camera down a bit at that point.

Good ride. Must have been pretty long. I'm sure the knobs wore down from start to end. Thanks for the fun vid.

Ha! I'm pretty darn short and, by the looks of my latest video, I think the chest mount could be angled even farther up.

I ride comfortably through November and sometimes halfway through December, then about halfway through February things get comfortable again.... However, that doesn't mean I don't ride year round, it's just that, sometimes, it looks like this:

Thoroughly enjoyed that video. Looks like a great XC trail. I always love the natural sounds of mountain biking in videos.

For the chestie, flip the housing upside down and set the camera to reverse filming in the settings. that will get you the angle you need

GoPro has an adapter that is used to push the camera further out from the chest mount which allows you to angle it up more. The mount is used for when you add the LCD BacPac to your camera. Email or call them and let them know that you need to be able to angle your camera up more... They sent me one for free.

I just got back from a week in GJ and Fruita with my GF. We loved it. We are already planning our trip for next year. Great video! I recognized some of the spots.

that is a great shot of the snow and the mountains in the background. How do you know where to point your front tires with all the snow covering the ground?

Not only have I ridden that trail hundreds of times, I also helped build it; that combination, along with the fact that there is a slight depression in the ground where the trail runs, keeps me where I need to be.
