    Wow! What a Weekend! Photos

I have some deep down muscle soreness going on after these past few days. I've been playing hard (um.... I mean working hard... R & D.....). I think I took a day off on Friday....

Now, now it's Monday, chore day. But, for just a few minutes I'll take you back over the past few days (unless a cohort calls and wants to go for a ride). The sunshine was sublimely intoxicating, and I was happy to let it take over my vitamin D deficient soul.

I think the last time a posted ride photos was before I went on this birthday ride, we were having an awful lot of fun, so not many photos were taken:

    The birthday boy:

Our friend who came with us (some of you may know him as "Heckled"):

Then I took a couple days off, but my new fork kept winking at me, so I had to go ride:

We had lots of fun playing:

The next day I had to give the Spanish Hottie (my Orbea roadbike) some attention, as she was clamoring to get out and catch some rays. I didn't take any photos from my skinny tire ride, as my riding partner tends to hurt me when we hit pavement. But here is where we rode:

Then I had to go ride with a friend who I just don't see often enough:

    He's legally blind:

Then I played in the dirt:

And had a trailside lunch in the sun, here:

And this morning this sight eased pain of waking an hour early and the soreness in my muscles:

I like your type of "work"

Great pics of familiar places and faces. I am now going back to work and battle the rising urge to run out the door, head to the airport and board any plane heading to the US Southwest.

    Where were these pictures taken?

I'm in New Mexico and the scenery is familiar, but the trails are not. Thanks.

Wow ... such awesome scenery. I think I'm going to be really disappointed I'll not have more time there when I eventually pass through - hopefully this summer (late Aug).

    Jealous.......again
"There are those who would say there's something pathological about the need to ride, and they're probably on to something. I'd wager though that most of the society-approved compulsions leave deeper scars in the psyche than a need to go and ride a bicycle on a mountain." Cam McRea

I'm in the Fruita/Grand Junction area of Colorado. It is similar to the area between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, as far as foliage and a mix of sandstone and volcanic rock.

If I told ya, I'd have to kill ya... Should be ridable around festival time (end of April), full write up then.

What area are you referring to? I go to UNM, so now you've got me eager to try this place.

I was referring to the similarities between the two areas, not to any particular trail system. I'm not so familiar with the Albuquerque area, but I bet you find some people who are on the New Mexico board.

Your dog looks like it is suffering from canine depression, as are my two riding mutts.

    Awesome post!

Not my dog, but he's a pretty darn good trail dog. He stays right at the rear derailer of his owners.
