North American Handmade Bicycle Show Passion!

Anyone else headed to Austin for the weekend? We're heading out Thursday from Houston. Very interested in checking out my buddy's custom bikes (Form Cycles) as well as some of the bamboo creations from other vendors!

I'm hitting the trails all four days come hell or high water!

    Jeff

I just got back myself. I started my day at 9th street trails, not much going on there today. Then off to the show! Had a blast, took a ton of pictures, drank a few beers ect... A good time was had by all. Off to City Park tomorrow!

I'm with you, and I live like 4 miles away. Not to mentions most of the bikes there tend to be nothing more then exercises in ridiculousness.

When it was in my area, I volunteered to do stuff for part of the day through the local bicycle club, then entered FREE for the rest.

The show is hardly cheap to produce, takes the better part of the year to organize and I'm sure Don Walker makes little $$ on the venture.....support the bike industry and go see some beautiful bikes and meet amazing folks who all have a passion for 2 wheels. I guess you don't go out to see live music, sporting events, support local cultural events, or ride a handmade bike from a small time builder .....what kind of bikes do you ride?

I looked at your profile, Specialized and Giant. No surprise there. Save your $$, Specialized and Giant will not have a booth at NAHB most likely.

Are there any good blogs or posts here with tons of photos of the bikes on display this year?

got sick and had to cancel Austin friday so thanks for the pics. saw some of the other links to on flikr.

I didn't realize 410 post and 120 stems were back! It was mediocre at best on the frame build side for me. Still dig retrotec stuff aesthetics. really trying to wrap my head around a
3k grocery getter but just can't.

This type of bike reminds me of fly fishing vs. regular fishing - the gear is simpler, more refined and ludicrously expensive. Also, lots of attention is given to looks, at least as much as is given to function.

    Nice looking bikes though.
