    January 15th in Norcal

After spending most of my life in cold and snow, I never fail to appreciate winters in California. Although I live in the Central Valley, which is often cool, wet, and foggy this time of year, I can drive a bit east or west and get some great weather. At 76 degrees, today was an especially great day at Ft. Ord, home of Sea Otter, near Monterey. More details and photos here. And as a botanist it blows my mind to see hillsides full of Manzanitas in full bloom with Hummingbirds zooming about in mid January.

    sweet.....
Not unusual to have a warming trend in January or February. It looks like we will be in a high pressure pattern for the next seven to ten days!
A buddy and I did a nice road ride today and the sun felt good on the skin.
Just can't beat the weather in central California year round. I think we especially enjoy these warm winter days the most as the rest of the country is experiencing colder temps. Yesterday, the wife and I sat on the beach for a couple hours and I got a little sunburn on the face.
    Nope.....no complaints here,
    Tone.
