    Pop/snap in shoulder while swimming?

This is pretty far OT, but I知 hopi g someone here might have an idea what I知 up against:

I get a moderately painful snap or pop sensation in my left shoulder when I swim. It also happens with certain exercises (though less intensely) like a dumbbell pull-up.

Does anyone have any idea what this is or how I might alleviate it?

It might be a good idea to see a medical professional or physical therapist. If you haven't hurt yourself recently, it could be as simple as needing to strengthen all of the muscles around the shoulder joint.

This has been my problem in the past.

If you have hurt yourself recently, I doubt guys on the internet can diagnose your problem.

Impingement due to non-concentricity of the joint with collarbone. Will get worse with time and use unless you strengthen the muscles on the opposing side.

Yeah, seeking proper medical consultation is the smart move. However I知 already going to physical therapy for a hip injury resulting from running. The PT guy is a bit focused on that, so I thought I壇 get a head start on the shoulder.

I keep hurting myself doing other sports, perhaps I should just stick to the bike.

But seriously, need to get more well rounded.

One visit to a good physiotherapist should tell you what is wrong and what to do about it. Then you can fix it on your own. I had to do that with an ankle issue a few years ago. The couple of visits to the physio was not cheap but totally worth it in the long run.
