    Rylo 360 camera

Just picked up one of these. Pretty neat stuff, software is amazing. Stabilization is killer (without gimbal).

I've yet to see MTB footy from these that looks very good ... the IQ is super soft and blurry. Stable yes, crisp/sharp, no.
But I would like to be surprised, so film away and report back.

Questions I hope you get a chance to share: How does it handle tree cover? How is it with changing light conditions (like tree cover to field and vice versa)?

It sucks. It doesn't adjust to rapidly changing lighting very quickly.

I like the camera because it is so simple to use. Pictures are never out of frame, and stabilization is amazing. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of sharpness for simplicity. I'm not much of a videographer anyway.

In addition to the softness and the low quality IQ, the warping and skewing introduced by software-based stabilization is a deal killer for me.

The form factor is small though.

I'm just not that much of a video perfectionist. Sharp video seems pointless with poor stabilization. And I don't want a mechanical stabilizer on my bike and under water.

Unstabilized video is almost unwatchable. That's why I was intrigued by the rylo. But my area is 100% in and out of tree cover. That's the hardest for video to digest. Hopefully the rylo gets better, the GoPro software gets easier, or the gimbals get lighter/more durable and smaller...

Said to have stabilisation as good as a gimbal ....
