Where to ride around Wilkes Barre

I'm going to be up in Wilkes Barre for business next week. Anybody have recommendations for a place to ride, given current conditions up there? I wouldn't be adverse to heading to Lackawanna County or points South (I'm coming from SE PA) if there is a good recommendation. Thanks in advance.

Moon lake. Folks riding there pretty much all the time. There's a really nice group ride every Wednesday evening at 6.

Thank you. I'll poke around the forums for more info on Moon Lake; maps, etc.

There's a cleanup day at Moon Lake this weekend, so the trails should be tip-top next week.

I just did and saw some pictures. Where is the nearest hospital for stitches? It looks pretty stout.

Moon Lake is great, as noted. No need for a hospital, most of the trails are good for all skill levels. Deacon is a little tough, as is 5858.

Frances Slocum is nice too, although I bet it it still wet and it has more ups and downs and less miles, so I always find it good for a quick ride but not good for longer stuff.

I definitely recommend a group ride, Tuesday at Slocum or Wednesday at Moon Lake. You could not ask for a friendlier, more helpful group of people. Everyone is easy going and pleasant.

Except this guy named Lee. He seems nice at first, but he keeps adding rocks and I think he made some of the hills higher over winter.

Thanks for the follow up glahnb. If I'm still there Wed night, I'm going to jump on that group ride, but I'm pretty sure I'll be done doing what I have to do by mid-afternoon Wed and be wheels out before 4pm.

I've ridden Slocum before. Its a nice little system for getting in a quick ride. I am looking forward to checking out the Moon, though.
