Wellsboro/Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Race - Course?

Anyone planning to ride in the Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Challenge outside Wellsboro in September?

I tried riding the course a few weeks ago, but for the life of me I can't follow the Left Straight Run Trail off Straight Run Road. Had the state forest map with me, and still couldn't see where to go.

Anyone is interested is doing a ride to check-out that part of the course?

The Left Straight Run trail is not really a trail anymore but a very ugly logging road.

In the uphill direction, it's no logging road that I could find. I did find a singletrack trail from Straight Run Road (where the Deer Trail meets the road) *downhill* to the stream bed, but from there I was lost.

Yeah the trail is right across from where deer trail comes down! The trail goes across the creek and then crosses several runoffs then runs into the ugly logging road talked about above which brings you to the gate at the top of the climb as always. I would stop in and talk to Tom Oswald at Oswald Cycle Works in Mansfield he could get you headed in a good direction, He knows the area well!

Maybe where it initially crosses the creek is where I lost it. But, was also unsure that the single track trailhead, across from where the deer trail comes down, was in fact the Left Straight Run Trail (head). I expected it to go uphill right from the very start, but it goes downhill to the creek for a few hundred yards, and then I lost it.

    Thanks for the clarifications.
