    Traps around Jim Thorpe

Just a heads up, people have been finding welded spikes and strung up wires around the bottom parts of American Standard (more so in the hollows below it that have cool trails also).

If you're riding that trail, keep an eye out. People suck.

Talking with the folks I usually ride with up there, sounds like a lot of these booby traps are being found at the bottom of Broad Mountain west of 93 where a lot of moto, ATV, and side by sides have been congregating. The spikes are screws and nails welded to a plate of steel, set out on the coal road and entrances to single track. Hadn't heard of the wires but not surprised based on the spikes. From the same folks I ride with I also heard of reckless shooting into the woods off the coal road, into the hollows where there are trails. From what I heard, its been getting crazy with folks from all over flocking to Thorpe with their ATV and side by sides during covid and some disgruntled person is taking it upon themselves to set these traps.

Probably good to stick to Flagstaff and Pisgah and the Jeans Run side of Broad if riding in Thorpe anytime soon.

Wow! People are messed up. I can't believe that someone would do something like that. They could kill someone.
